TYT MD-380 programming for Amateurs

A guide aimed at people new to DMR, showing how to program up an amateur repeater and a simplex channel on DMR.

Programming this radio is pretty similar to programming the Motorola DMR radios, except that you have to add your channels to a zone manually, rather than them being created already in a zone. I will create a video like this for the motorola DMR radios if anyone wants.

Please share this video with anyone who you think may find it useful!

MD380 PC Program Password

CPS standalone. Use this 1st if the following passwords do not work.

999999999
or
00000000

Use this as last
It can happen that a “PC Programming Password”, set on the Tytera MD-380/Retevis RT-3 “CPS” programming software, is lost or forgotten. If that happens, there is no way to program the radio from your PC ever again.
However, there is a simple workaround:

MD-380 .rdt file Memory Map

[csidmr] .rdt file memory map
I have been writing the Zone Manager program and as a consequence had to re-created the memory map notes. I have now uploaded them to the yahoo.com user group [csidmr] files area.
This is far from a complete document. Only parts of the memory map have been decoded. But it should prove a starting point for anyone wanting to investigate further.
The format is valid for the original CS700 firmware and the MD380 firmware. It almost certainly is not correct for the CS700A or CS750.
I am not able to answer questions on this document. If you don't understand it then you probably shouldn't be playing about with .rdt files. There is a risk of bricking your radio if you do.
